All you gotta do is go up and be all like – “hey, wanna make out with me for a photo?” and they go “um yes duh” and then the rest is drunk history. TRQPITECA Queer Pride Chicago 2019 is an art, music, and community festival celebrating queer, trans, nonbinary, and LGBIA+ existence and resilience, presented as a part of the Chicago’s Park District’s Night Out in the Parks at the beautiful and iconic Ping Tom Memorial Park.


Free, all-ages, wheelchair accessible, and open to the public, TRQPITECA Pride aims to bring together people across ages and identities for an exploration of alternatives to mainstream notions of “Pride”, via artists representing Chicago’s queer undergrounds, and rooted in house and techno music. We also seek to bring Chicago’s queer and ally communities access to health care and wellness resources and organizations servicing Chicago’s South Side.

Programming:

11am-4pm: Queer Family BBQ presented by Queering the Parks Teen Planning Committee and Chicago Parks District

3pm-10pm: TRQPiTECA Queer Pride Chicago 2019 featuring visuals by ColorSwim, DJs, performances, installations, community organizations, vendors, and more!

Location and Directions:
The event will be centered between the Pagoda, and directly under the 18th street bridge, and can be accessed by the park entrance at the intersection of W 19th St and S Wells.

We are currently seeking community partners , sponsors , volunteers to be present and engage with the public during our event. Not only will members of Chicago LGBTQIA community be present for the festivities, we will also welcome Chinatown residents and park-goers to join us during the event. This is a opportunity to engage with an estimated audience of 500 (minimum) – 1000 (estimated) people throughout the course of the event.

Community partners will be offered a complimentary table for community engagement at the event, and we will post about your organization on our Facebook event page and website. As a community partner, we would ask you to help spread the word about TRQPITECA Queer Pride 2019 to your community and networks.
